By becoming a member of GENCA you have access to a range of benefits:
Held annually in May with the support of our industry partners, past conferences have been held on the Gold Coast and in Melbourne. The GENCA National Conference is an exciting opportunity to learn, develop and network with colleagues and specialists in your field.
As a GENCA member you receive access to our events and education program at discounted prices. The GENCA events calendar is designed by the regional committees, and includes topics of relevance to gastroenterological nurses of all levels. Branch education meetings are held across a range of locations through the state/territory and are a mix of evening and weekend meetings. Under a partnership arrangement with GESA, GENCA provides a dedicated educational program for gastroenterological nurses as part of the annual Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW) conference.
As a member of GENCA, you will be kept informed of current issues affecting gastroenterological nursing. Information is available via the website, as well as electronic newsletters and updates. Members also receive our quarterly journal J.GENCA, featuring research, case studies, reports and articles.
GENCA offers a range of resources including DVDs, clinical competencies and posters. These are available for purchase through our online shop.
Members are encouraged to use the post-nominals (MGENCA) as they provide public recognition of their commitment to continued professional development and commitment to the nursing profession. See attached for further information.
GENCA members are entitled to apply for a range of education grants, which provide financial assistance to attend gastroenterology conferences or undertake educational courses.
